Kentucky Cancer Registry Kentucky Cancer Registry World-Wide Web Server: The Kentucky Cancer Registry records the incidence of cancer for the Commonwealth of Kentucky. Since 1991, the registry has collected and maintained a population based longitudinal database of all cancer cases diagnosed or treated in Kentucky. This server provides direct access to all data published in the annual reports to the Governor and General Assembly of Kentucky. It is intended as a resource which can be used to understand the incidence of cancer in Kentucky.


Medscape Medscape: Medscape calls itself the online resource for better patient care. Over 500,000 practitioners are registered users of the site (which is free). The site includes medical news, drug and MEDLINE search capabilities, and information on a variety of health topics, including AIDS, Cardiology, Infectious Diseases, Managed Care, Medical Practice, Molecular Medicine, Oncology, Orthopedics, Pediatrics, Pharmacotherapy, Primary Care, Psychiatry, Respiratory Care, Surgery, Urology and Women's Health.


MedConnect MedConnect: MedConnect is an online hub for physicians and other health care professionals. Founded by an emergency physician in 1995, its focus is clinical and practical. Continuing medical education, cases of the month, featured articles, and literature reviews are presented in journals of managed care, primary care, pediatrics, and emergency medicine.

MEDLINE MEDLINE: The most extensive collection of published medical information in the world is now accessible, free-of-charge, to Internet users.




 


MedWeb MedWeb: A great place to search for all types of medical information from Emory University.


PEDBASE Pediatric Data Base: Contains descriptions of over 550 childhood illnesses. Information on each disorder was obtained from at least three sources including Nelson Textbook of Pediatrics (14th and 15th editions), the Birth Defects Encyclopedia (1990 and 1994 editions) and from at least one other source (journal articles, review articles, textbooks). PEDBASE can be downloaded as shareware.


Pharmaceutical Information Network Pharmaceutical Information Network: Provides information on various conditions grouped into disease centers as follows: cancer, cardiovascular disease, digestive diseases, endocrine disease and diabetes, immunologic disease and allergy, nervous system and mental health, respiratory disease and asthma.

Physicians Online Physicians Online: POL is a private, physician-only online service that requires the installation of software for physicians to access the many benefits of membership. Provides comprehensive medical and non-medical content, private communication tools and Web access to the largest online community of physicians in the world.


Virtual Hospital Virtual Hospital: The Virtual Hospital (VH) is a project of the Electric Differential Multimedia Laboratory, Department of Radiology, University of Iowa College of Medicine. It is a continuously updated digital health sciences library stored on computers and available over high speed networks 24 hours a day. Virtual Hospital provides patient care support and distance learning to practicing physicians and other healthcare professionals.


WebDoctor WebDoctor: WebDoctor is a comprehensive index of Internet medical resources that provides physicians with a virtual library of up-to-date, peer-reviewed professional medical information. Designed by physicians - for physicians, each link has been carefully reviewed by a panel of physicians prior to being listed. Currently, WebDoctor contains links to over 10,000 documents and web sites.
