Continuing Education for Nurses and Other Allied Health Professionals
 
Western Baptist Hospital is an accredited provider of continuing education programs for nurses (CEUs) through the Kentucky Board of Nursing.
 
Continuing education programs are also provided for other allied health professionals, including radiology techs, respiratory therapists, registered dietitians, physical and speech therapists, nurse practitioners, physician assistants, laboratory professionals, health information managment, pharmacists, pharmacy techs and child care staff.
 
Course offerings:
 
Specialty Series: These classes are designed to provide the theoretical knowledge needed by new employees (nursing, respiratory or radiology) in critical care units, telemetry units, cardiac cath labs, post-anesthesia care units and emergency rooms.
 
Certification courses: Western Baptist Hospital offers continuing education for Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS), Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS), Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP) and the Instructors courses for ACLS, PALS and BLS. Trauma Nurse Core Course, Emergency Pediatric Nurse Course and Course of Advanced Trauma Nursing (TNCC/ENPC/CATN) are offered on a regular basis. Instructor courses in TNCC and ENPC are offered yearly.
 
Workshop offerings: Various topics for nurses and allied health professionals are presented as individual programs throughout the year.
