Teens, Non-traditional Families Invited to Childbirth Class
 
story14Western Baptist Hospital introduces Smart Beginnings Childbirth Class, a free course specifically designed for pregnant teenagers and other nontraditional families. Participants are encouraged to bring their partner, mother or a friend, but also may attend alone. The class will cover these topics:
  • Anatomy and physiology of pregnancy
  • Stages of labor and delivery
  • Signs and symptoms of labor
  • Preparing for parenting and bonding
  • Newborn care
  • Coping with a new baby
  • Stressors of non-traditional pregnancy and child-rearing
The two-session course meets from 2 to 5 p.m. in the Atrium Classroom of Western Baptist Hospital’s Doctors Office Building 2 on the following Mondays:
  • March 24 and 31
  • June 23 and 30
  • Aug. 18 and 25
  • Sept. 22 and 29
  • Nov. 17 and 24
