“Dr. Withrow has been at the forefront of every cardiac advance we’ve had at this hospital,” said hospital president and CEO Larry Barton. “We are fortunate and excited about his leadership.”

Dr. Withrow said one of his priorities is educating the public about heart disease.

“Education is critical,” said Dr. Withrow. “So many lives could be saved if only the public was more aware of heart disease, its symptoms and risk factors. We need to start this process early, in childhood, and continue throughout people’s lives.”

Dr. Withrow also will focus on recruiting new doctors to the heart center and integrating new technologies and procedures as they emerge.
