October 07 HealthBreak
On an upcoming “HealthBreak,” family practice physician David Saxon, M.D., will discuss the flu and why it’s important to get an annual flu shot.
“Healthcare workers, seniors and people with chronic conditions like diabetes, asthma, chronic lung disease and hart disease are highest risk for flu,” said Dr. Saxon.
The flu shot is the single best way to prevent the flu and, contrary to some misconceptions, it does not cause the flu.
“It’s not a live, active virus,” said Dr. Saxon, “so it cannot cause any infection.
A free community flu shot clinic is planned at WBH for Wednesday, Oct. 31, from 8 a.m. to noon in the atrium of Doctors Office Building 2.
See this “HealthBreak” at 6 p.m. Tuesday, Oct. 23, on NewsChannel 6 and Wednesday morning, Oct. 24, on NewsChannel 6 Today. A different “HealthBreak” is added weekly and archived online at westernbaptist.com or paducahsun.com.
