Women's Services

 Women and ChildrenWestern Baptist's women's programs care for the life of a woman -- from early adolescence through childbearing and beyond. We offer a full range of medical, surgical, obstetrical and educational services in a family-centered environment, making Western Baptist Hospital the facility of choice for women in Western Kentucky.

Services

Our comprehensive range of services includes:

Answering Healthcare Questions

In most families, women make the healthcare decisions. They bandage cuts and scrapes, sponge feverish foreheads and decide when it's time to call the doctor or head for the emergency room. Western Baptist offers programs to help women make better healthcare decisions for themselves and their families, such as:
  • The StorkLine, a 24-hour-a-day telephone service providing information about pregnancy, childbirth and newborn care;
  • Baptist Health Line, (270) 575-2918, available 24 hours a day to provide consumers with valuable health information and help them make appropriate healthcare decisions;
  • Medical Library and Health Resource Center, offering pamphlets, books and journals; Internet access; and MEDLINE and other data base searches and models.

Helping Women Stay Healthy

At Western Baptist, we encourage women to take time for themselves -- to exercise, eat right and release the stress that so many conflicting responsibilities can bring. That's why we offer programs designed to enhance personal wellness, such as:

Providing Women with Health Education

We know that everyone has different needs. That's why we offer a variety of health education classes and programs so women can choose only the ones that interest them. Western Baptist's Women's Center includes a conference area for classes and seminars:
  • Girl Talk is offered to help adolescent girls gain an understanding of the menstrual cycle and reproduction.
  • Baby Brunch: Infant Massage Class to teach new moms and dads the basics of infant massage.
  • Maternal Child Programs and Classes designed to prepare the whole family for the new baby's arrival.
  • Pediatric CPR teaches cardiopulmonary resuscitation of infants and children to eight years of age. The classes are certified by the American Heart Association
