Long-time Western Baptist Hospital board members Don Walker and Ned Buchanan have been named co-chairs of Western Baptist Hospital’s Foundation Fund. Both have also served as board members for Baptist Healthcare System, Inc., and are actively involved in both hospital and community activities and organizations.
Walker, principal and retired president of Apex Engineering, Inc., holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Engineering from New York Tech. He is active in his church, Immanuel Baptist, as a deacon.
Buchanan is a retired Vice President and Commercial Loan Officer of Citizens Bank and Trust Company of Paducah. A graduate of the Consumer School of Banking at the University of Virginia, Buchanan has also served as a deacon at his church, Lone Oak Baptist, for more than 25 years and currently teaches Sunday School.
Through the establishment of the Foundation Fund, Western Baptist is reviving the tradition of giving, which supported the hospital in its infancy when in the fall of 1953, it first opened its doors to the community.
The Western Baptist Hospital Foundation Fund allows families and individuals the opportunity to make financial contributions to the hospital to support needed services, facilities, and other areas of growth. Through wills, planned giving, and other giving methods, individuals and families can designate contributions to Western Baptist, allowing the hospital to further enrich the health of the people and communities it serves.
