Baptist Home Health can care for you or your loved ones in the comfort of your home.
Using Baptist Home Health's team approach, home health specialists can arrange for special equipment you might need; provide instruction, care and support for you and your family; arrange for additional services; and carry out your doctor's orders.
Our team of professionals stays in close contact with your physician while you are under our care and includes:
Home Health Nurses
Our nurses provide for your health care at home. We administer IV therapy, maintain and replace catheters and deliver special medical treatments ordered by your physician. We teach diabetic management and monitoring, ostomy care, how to manage medications and how to use oxygen safely. We are available 24 hours a day if a need arises.
Home Health Aides
Home health aides supplement your nurse's care by helping you with daily personal tasks. Your aide can assist you with bathing, dressing, changing linens and shampooing your hair. Your aide can also assist you with simple exercise and help you with walking.
Physical Therapist
Depending on your needs, your physical therapist can provide therapy for your general rehabilitation. We can show you and your family how to transfer you from bed to chair and other techniques for living with a disability. We can also show you how to adapt your home to allow more independent functioning. And our therapists can design a physical therapy program you can use at home to speed your recovery.
Speech Therapist
Helping you communicate effectively is the role of your speech therapist. If you have a language disorder or disability, we will work with you to develop new communication skills so you can relate to the outside world with confidence. We can also assist you with swallowing difficulties.
Occupational Therapist
A disability can make your daily tasks more difficult or seem impossible. Your occupational therapist will show you how to adapt your routine and surroundings for more independent living. Your therapist will also assist you in improving your upper extremity skills with new ways of using familiar tools and appliances. This will make you more independent and speed your rehabilitation.
Social Services Specialist
Modern society is a complex network of agencies and organizations. During your recovery at home, you may need the services of some of these community resources. Your home health social worker will make arrangements for services you will need and help you cut through the red tape. And, we will help you and your family deal with any illness-related problems through counseling.
Chaplain
We recognize the importance of spirituality in the total well-being of an individual and provide an ecumenical ministry to our clients and their families. The home health chaplain specializes in the care and support of individuals and families as they face illness, life changes, loneliness, grief and spiritual crises.
