Located on Western Baptist Hospital's fourth floor, the 4B Telemetry Unit provides specialized care for patients in stable condition who are recovering from a cardiac event such as open heart surgery, angioplasty, pacemaker insertion, a heart attack or dysrhythmia.
The 41-bed unit is staffed by registered nurses certified in Advanced Cardiac Life Support, licensed practical nurses and nursing assistants. All

patients on the unit are connected to pocket-size transmitters which continuously display their heart rhythms at the central desk where a monitor technician is on duty 24 hours a day. Additionally, bedside monitors which display heart rhythm, blood pressure and blood oxygen saturation are available for patients who require closer observation.
Visiting hours are based on individual patient needs. Private rooms on the unit are equipped with hide-away beds so one family member can remain with the patient at all times. Each room also has a recliner and a visitor's chair. For more information about Western Baptist Hospital's Telemetry Unit, phone
