Providing education and support for our patients and our community is a major part of Western Baptist Hospital's mission. Each year, we reach out to tens of thousands of people throughout the region with educational activities, support groups and wellness services for the entire family.

• Educational activities include Baptist Health Line, a hotline to help answer all types of health-related questions as well as special hotlines for chest pain and stroke and pregnancy and newborn care; resources to help you learn about health issues and medical problems; classes in CPR, childbirth preparation and parenting, and diabetes; the 55 Plus®; Brunch Bunch Seminars; the Threads of Life Breast Cancer Awareness Program; and the Arthritis Foundation's Aquatics Class;
• Support groups are offered for breast feeding mothers and people who are coping with heart disease, stroke, diabetes, celiac sprue, Parkinson's disease and ostomy surgery;
• Wellness programs include screenings for prostate and skin cancer; health risk appraisals for heart disease, cancer and women's health problems; free, wallet-sized Childhood Immunization Records; the Safe Communities Program, which concentrates on preventing traffic injuries; and Baptist Family Fitness Centers, promoting fitness for the whole family.
