Western Baptist Hospital is committed not only to helping people heal, but to helping them stay well. That's why we offer free health screenings; free self-tests to help you learn about your health status; free childhood immunization cards and community education to prevent traffic injuries and fatalities.
Free Health Screenings
Screenings can detect many health problems in their early stages, when they are easiest to treat. When you visit your doctor for your annual check-up, he or she performs many screenings to make sure you are healthy.
Western Baptist Hospital, in cooperation with physicians and other health care providers, offers a variety of free health screenings throughout the year, including:
Free Self-Tests to Help You Learn More about Your Health Status
Western Baptist Hospital offers several self-tests to help you learn more about your general health status, as well as your long-term risk of developing heart disease, cancer and other health problems.
Designed by National Health Enhancement Systems of Phoenix, AZ, the self-questionnaires can be completed in just a few minutes in the privacy of your home. Then, simply mail your completed questionnaire back to Western Baptist Hospital for analysis. Your confidential test results will be mailed back to you in just a few weeks and will include recommendations on how you can change your lifestyle to stay healthy.
Western Baptist Hospital offers the following self-tests as a free public service:
- The Heart Test, which helps you learn if you are at risk for heart disease and what steps you can take to reduce your risk.
- The Cancer Test, which outlines your personal risks for developing different types of cancer and what you can do to reduce your risk.
- Women's Health Test, a simple assessment you can take at home to help you learn how to control health risks and enhance your overall sense of well being.
Safe Communities Program: Preventing Traffic Injuries and Fatalities
Western Baptist Hospital's Safe Communities Program is working to prevent traffic injuries and fatalities in McCracken and surrounding counties. Its purpose is to save lives by educating area students, workers and other members of the community about important issues such as seat belt safety, child passenger safety and how alcohol impairs the ability to drive. To learn more about how your school or business can participate in the program or about our car seat fitting station where seats are inspected to make sure they are properly installed, please visit the
Safe Communities Program page.
