Baby Yourself with Prenatal Massage Therapy

During pregnancy, a woman's body undergoes many changes. Prenatal massage therapy can help you cope with physical complaints, reduce stress and promote your own -- and your baby's -- well-being. Some of the many benefits of massage therapy during pregnancy include:
  • helping your body eliminate waste products through the lymphatic and circulatory systems, resulting in increased energy;
  • easing muscle discomfort such as cramping, tightening, stiffness, tension and knots;
  • reducing some of the normal discomforts of pregnancy, such as backaches, stiff neck, leg cramps, headaches, swelling and sore feet and ankles;
  • improving circulation, which helps control the onslaught of varicose veins; and
  • releasing nervous tension, allowing you to sleep more easily and deeply.
Prenatal massage is offered at Natural Healing Institute. Generally, pregnant women can start receiving massages after 14 weeks and continue all the way through until delivery. For more information or to schedule an appointment for a prenatal massage, please call Natural Healing Institute at (270) 442-7377.
