Individual Recognitions - Lisa Feldsien, R.N., Radiation Therapy, was awarded a travel scholarship to attend the Oncology Nursing Society's Annual Congress in Boston. Feldsien was honored for her paper on achievements and contributions in oncology nursing. (April 2006)
- Roxanne Ramsey-Ebert and Cindy Walker, R.N.s, Labor and Delivery, received certification for advanced life support in obstetrics from St. Claire's Regional Medical Center in Morehead.
- Mareeka Bachuss, R.N., Intensive Care Unit, completed studies to become a licensed critical care nurse specialist.
- Mike Tutor, coordinator of Diagnostic Imaging, completed studies to become a certified radiology administrator.
- Melissa Gott, Outpatient Surgery, passed the National Certification Test in Ambulatory and Perianesthesia Nursing (CAPA).
- Betty Kuiper, A.R.N.P., M.S.N., C.E.N., Critical Care Clinical Nurse Specialist, presented research titled "Cardiovascular dysfunction in response to ventilator weaning" at the second annual conference of the American Association of Heart Failure Nurses. The abstract has been published in Progress in Cardiovascular Nursing.
- Pat Reiter, director of Education, passed the Kentucky Medical Association's certification exam to become a Certified Continuing Medical Education Coordinator.
- Cheri Gregory, R.N., Intensive Care Unit, passed the Clinical Nurse Exam Specialist exam (CNS), with an emphasis in education.
- Edgar Hembree, director of Engineering, was presented the James Mason Leadership Award by the Kentucky Society of Health Care Engineers.
- Medical Technician Denise Sumner successfully passed the Medical Lab Technician Board of Registry exam through the American Society of Clinical Pathologists.
- Betty Kuiper, A.R.N.P., M.S.N., C.E.N., Critical Care Clinical Nurse Specialist, passed the Clinical Nurse Specialist in Adult Health Credentialing Examination through the American Nurses Credentialing Center.
