Western Baptist welcomes new year's twins



 

 

Anthony and Berna Gerard of Vienna, Ill., are the proud parents of twin sons Aldi and Vodra, born at 2:36 p.m. and 2:37 p.m. Sunday, Jan. 1, the first babies born in western Kentucky this year.

Delivered seven weeks early, the babies are being cared for in Western Baptist Hospital’s Neonatal Intensive Care Unit, which opened a year ago Tuesday.

Nurse Dana Green presented gifts from local merchants --  Summers Riverside Mansion, Owen Lumber, Chick-Fil-A, Paula Damron, Medical Spa 7, Rose Garden, Deloris Morgan, Morrison Cafeteria, Olan Mills, Western Baptist Hospital Auxiliary, Pasta House, Pizza Inn, McAllisters and Tot-N-Teen – as well as savings bonds from the hospital to the year’s first babies.
