Western Baptist named Top 100 Hospital for Patient Experience

Western Baptist Hospital has been named one of the country’s Top 100 Hospitals for Patient Experience and winner of the Women’s Choice Award by WomenCertified®, an organization committed to helping women identify businesses that value the customer experience and appreciate female consumer needs.

The survey process is based on significant research of customer satisfaction among women. Recipients do not apply for the award; they are selected based on a rigorous scoring process.

“We are honored that women recognize the efforts of our staff to create a healing environment, so patients and their loved ones experience true compassion and quality care,” said Western Baptist president and CEO Larry Barton. “Staying focused on the needs of our patients is good medicine, and patient satisfaction is one of the reasons our hospital continues to be preferred 2 to 1 in our region.”

WomenCertified® honored Western Baptist with the Women’s Choice Award because of its high consumer satisfaction scores.

“Women make or influence more than 85 percent of all healthcare decisions for themselves and their families,” said Delia Passi, CEO and founder of WomenCertified® and former publisher of Working Mother and Working Women magazines. “Recognizing the top hospitals nationwide that are women-friendly and align with women’s identified preferences is important to our mission at WomenCertified, where we are women helping women make smart choices.”

Linda Stone, 68, of Cadiz, who has had two orthopedic surgeries at Western Baptist, said she would recommend the hospital to anyone.

“That’s the best hospital, and I’ve had dealings with a lot of them in my lifetime,” Stone said. “It felt like I was the only patient. They try to please you any way they can.”

Heather Castillow, 24, of Cunningham had a similar experience when she received chemotherapy at Western Baptist following colon cancer surgery.

“Everyone at the chemotherapy department at Western Baptist was wonderful,” Castillow said. “I couldn’t have done it without them.”

Stacey Young, Director of Customer Service, said the award affirms employees’ commitment to provide an outstanding patient experience.

“When someone is hospitalized or here for a test, that can be an anxious time. Our goal is to provide an experience that lets each patient and family member know we care,” Young said. “Western Baptist is known for its compassion. This designation from WomenCertified® certainly validates our reputation.”
