Pink-flocked Christmas tree donated to Baptist Imaging Center

Mammographer Tammy Beard, left, oncology nurse Heather Williams, mammographers Teressa Carroll and Aimee Nelson and Imaging Center supervisor Betty Brown admire the breast cancer pink ribbon wreath Williams made for the mammography suite.
An 8 ½-foot pink-flocked Christmas tree adorns the Baptist Imaging Center lobby for breast cancer awareness, thanks to a donation from an oncology nurse at Western Baptist.
Williams Christmas Tree owners Corey and Heather Williams donated the tree for breast cancer awareness. Heather Williams, R.N., said she wanted the tree to lift the spirits of people dealing with cancer this holiday season.
Corey Williams cut the Fraser fir from a North Carolina tree farm on Nov. 27. He said it took about 30 minutes to flock and about 3 ½ hours to string its 2,800 lights.
“They did a fantastic job,” said Betty Brown, Imaging Center supervisor.
Heather Williams also shaped pink-flocked tree branches into a breast cancer ribbon. “It is the first one I have ever made,” she said. “I did it for my grandmother, Lorena McGinnis, who is a breast cancer survivor.”
The lighted ribbon hangs in the Baptist Imaging Center’s mammography suite.
