Michael Muscarella heads state Physical Therapy Association

Michael Muscarella, PT, DPT, director of rehabilitation services at Western Baptist Hospital, began a three-year term Jan. 1 as president of the Kentucky Physical Therapy Association.

Muscarella, a graduate of Old Dominion University, received his doctorate in physical therapy from the University of Kentucky in May 2009. He has been a member of the American Physical Therapy Association for more than 30 years and has worked at Western Baptist for more than 20 years.

He is president of the Rotary Club of Paducah and serves with many different organizations to promote health care and increase the number of physical therapists in the state, while reducing disparities in rehabilitation care.
