Marshall County man leaves $368,000 to hospital foundation

The Western Baptist Hospital Foundation has received a gift of $368,857 from the estate of Edgar “Eddie” Moser of Benton. Moser died in June 2009 at Parkview Nursing and Rehabilitation Center in Paducah at 67.

Moser, retired from the Kentucky Transportation Cabinet, was a frequent patient in Western Baptist’s Transitional Care Unit. TCU nurse Sally Vaughn, R.N., said she enjoyed taking care of Moser and remembers how he insisted on helping himself, despite disabilities.

“Western Baptist truly appreciates Mr. Moser’s generous gift,” said Larry Barton, hospital president. “Past gifts have helped fund the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit and the Baptist Heart Center. Mr. Moser’s generosity will benefit many in our community for years to come.”
