Hospitalists Benjamin Thompson and Herman Lyle join staff

Hospitalists Benjamin H. Thompson, M.D., and Herman O. Lyle Jr., M.D., have recently joined the medical staff at Western Baptist Hospital. They join a medical staff of approximately 240 physicians, representing 40 medical specialties.

Dr. Thompson, a Paducah native, is a graduate of the University of Kentucky College of Medicine. He completed a residency at the University of Alabama-Birmingham Department of Internal Medicine.

Dr. Lyle, an internist for nearly 32 years in southern Illinois, is a graduate of Emory University School of Medicine. He completed an internal medicine residency at Louisiana State University School of Medicine in Shreveport.

Western Baptist’s hospitalist program began in early 2009. A team of hospitalists cares for hospitalized patients whose physicians are not on the hospital staff. The hospitalist returns their care to their primary care physician after they leave the hospital.
