Free AED and CPR training for families June 6

To help educate the community on cardiac emergencies, Western Baptist Hospital’s Auxiliary has purchased cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR) kits for families participating in a free June 6 training event at the Baptist Heart Center.

To celebrate CPR and AED Awareness Week, June 1-7, Western Baptist will host free CPR training sessions for families. Each participating family will receive a free take-home kit, including a practice mannequin and DVD.

Volunteer CPR instructors at Western Baptist will teach participants how to properly perform life-saving CPR, which can double a victim’s chance of survival, during two offered sessions on Saturday, June 6:  9 to 10:30 a.m. or 11 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. The sessions are free, but reservations are required and can be made by phoning Baptist Health Line at (270) 575-2918.
