Dr. Patrick Withrow to speak to state Cardiovascular Task Force



Cardiologist Patrick Withrow, M.D., vice president and chief medical officer of Western Baptist Hospital, will be one of the keynote speakers at the Kentucky Cardiovascular Task Force Workshop in Frankfort on Tuesday, Feb. 23.

The program is the result of a year-long effort to assess the training needs of first responders, nurses and physicians in assessing and treating heart attacks. Participants will discuss available resources for education about heart attack warning signs, heart healthy living and continuing education for medical professionals.

Dr. Withrow serves as Western Baptist’s liaison with the medical staff of more than 240 physicians, as well as assisting in physician recruitment, program development and community education.An interventional cardiologist, Dr. Withrow practiced at Western Baptist from 1981 until 2007, when he was named medical director of the Baptist Heart Center.

Dr. Withrow is co-chairman of the Kentucky Heart and Stroke Task Force. He serves on the Board of Governors for the Kentucky chapter of the American College of Cardiology and is a delegate of the Kentucky Medical Association.
