Cooper Clayton smoking cessation classes start Aug. 27

A free 13-week smoking cessation program will start Aug. 27 at Baptist Health Paducah.

The Cooper/Clayton method combines nicotine gum, patches or lozenges with support and behavior modification in a supportive group setting.

The classes will be from 5:30 to 6:30 p.m. every Tuesday at Baptist Health Paducah Classroom F in Doctors Office Building 2.

Baptist Health nurse educators Mandy Hannan, R.N., and Tonya Edwards, R.N., will co-facilitate the classes.

“At Baptist Health Paducah, we know how important it is to offer the Cooper/Clayton method to stop smoking,” Hannan said. “As nurses, we have seen the negative effects of smoking and enjoy being able to be a part of someone’s journey to stop smoking and to better health.”
