Campaign earns national recognition



Western Baptist Hospital’s smoking cessation campaign, Quit Now, recently earned a merit award at the 26th annual Healthcare Advertising Awards.

The campaign included a smoking cessation fair on Great American Smokeout day, with physicians counseling area smokers on quitting options, as well as a patient education booklet featured on Western Baptist’s Web site at www.westernbaptist.com, in the Heart Care Center section.  

Western Baptist and the Kentucky Cancer Program partner to offer free smoking cessation classes. The Cooper Clayton Method to Stop Smoking is a series of 13 one-hour sessions led by certified instructors. The next series begins Thursday, July 9. The national contest drew more than 3,600 entries this year, making the awards the largest healthcare advertising awards competition. Entries were judged on creativity, quality, message effectiveness, consumer appeal, graphic design and overall impact.
