CDC posts swine flu information

Western Baptist offers these tips regarding swine flu:

1. Practice good health hygiene.  Disease transmission can be significantly reduced by taking the following actions:

  •  Wash your hands often with soap and water.   Alcohol based cleaners are also effective.
  • Practice good “cough etiquette” by coughing or sneezing in a tissue or in your elbow instead of your hands.
  • Always perform hand hygiene after any contact with respiratory secretions.

2. Be mindful of the symptoms. They are the same as any flu – fever, cough, sore throat, body aches, headache, chills, fatigue.

3. Do not spread the illness. If you are sick, stay at home. If your children are sick, don’t send them to school.
