Baptist Health offers men's health seminar, prostate screening

Baptist Health Paducah will offer a free breakfast seminar for men from 7 to 8 a.m. Tuesday, July 23, in the Baptist Heart Center auditorium.

Physicians from the Urology Group of Paducah, PSC, will discuss men’s health issues, including Low T (the decrease in testosterone that comes with age) and prostate cancer.

The first 40 registrants -- 40 to 70 years old, not under an urologist’s care and not previously screened -- also may sign up for a free baseline prostate screening. Register: 270.575.2895.

One in every six men will be diagnosed with prostate cancer in his lifetime. According to Baptist Health urologist Michael Knox, M.D., a physical exam and simple blood test to establish a baseline PSA (prostate-specific antigen) score helps decrease prostate cancer mortality by 44 percent.
