Baptist Health Paducah wins patient experience award for 3rd year

For the third consecutive year, Baptist Health Paducah has been recognized by  WomenCertified® as one of America’s Best Hospitals for Patient Experience.

WomenCertified® honored Baptist Health with the Women’s Choice Award because of its high consumer satisfaction scores among women. Recipients do not apply for the award; they are selected based on a rigorous scoring process.

“We are honored that women recognize the efforts of our staff to create a healing environment, so patients and their loved ones experience true compassion and quality care,” said Baptist Health Paducah CEO Larry Barton.

Barton said the hospital staff is committed to treating people like they are a member of their own family – a focus throughout the hospital’s 60-year history.  “Staying focused on the needs of our patients is good medicine,” he said, “and one of the reasons our hospital continues year after year to be preferred 2 to 1 in our region.”

Baptist was recognized by the same organization as one of the “Best Hospitals for Obstetrics” and “Best Hospitals for Orthopedics” earlier this year.

WomenCertified® helps women identify businesses that value the customer experience and appreciate female consumer needs. Its scoring process is unique in that it is the only national list that focuses on female patient satisfaction.

“Right now, the national conversation about health care is focused on politics, insurance companies, and ‘the bottom line,’ which ignores what matters most to the patient – their experience with health care providers,” said Delia Passi, CEO and founder of WomenCertified®. “We’re putting the power of choice in the woman’s hands with the information to simplify her choices.”

Baptist Health Paducah is a regional medical and referral center, serving about 200,000 patients a year from four states. With more than 1,700 employees and 260 physicians, it offers a full range of services, including cardiac and cancer care, diagnostic imaging, women’s and children’s services, surgery, emergency treatment, rehabilitation and more. It opened in 1953 as Western Baptist Hospital and recently changed its name, along with other facilities in Baptist Health, one of the largest not-for-profit healthcare systems in Kentucky. WomenCertified® is the home of the Women’s Choice Awards, The Voice of Women. The Women’s Choice Award is the first national award based on the recommendations and preferences of women. We are the source for women seeking credible recommendations. Our hundreds of thousands of members each share a lifetime of experiences as a woman and vote for businesses and brands who are meeting their high expectations.  Awards are based on surveys of tens of thousands of women, as well as research conducted in partnership with the Wharton School of the University of Pennsylvania on what drives the consumer experience for women vs. men.  To learn more, visit www.womenschoiceaward.com.
