Baptist Health Paducah thanks staff for weathering the storm
Baptist Health Paducah president Bill Brown commends hospital employees for going above and beyond the call of duty during this week’s winter storm.
Baptist Health employees live throughout the region and had to make preparations in advance not to miss work. At least 80 employees arranged to stay at the hospital during their off hours, so they would be available when their shifts began. Staff also provided transportation for approximately 61 employees who couldn’t get to and from work.
In addition, Mercy Regional Emergency Medical Service provided a trailer housing cots for overnight stays.
“Hospitals never close, and our employees never receive ‘snow days’ off,” Brown said. “We are grateful for their dedication 24 hours a day, seven days a week, 365 days of the year, to care for the patients and families we are privileged to serve.”
