Baptist Health Paducah named America’s Best Hospital
For the second year, Baptist Health Paducah has been named one of America’s Best Hospitals for Patient Experience and winner of the Women’s Choice Award by WomenCertified®, an organization committed to helping women identify businesses that value the customer experience and appreciate female consumer needs.
The survey process is based on significant research of customer satisfaction among women. Recipients do not apply for the award; they are selected based on a rigorous scoring process.
“We are honored that women recognize the efforts of our staff to create a healing environment, so patients and their loved ones experience true compassion and quality care,” said Baptist Health Paducah president and CEO Larry Barton. “Staying focused on the needs of our patients is good medicine, and patient satisfaction is one of the reasons our hospital continues to be preferred 2 to 1 in our region.”
Brenda Landers, 70, of Aurora, has been a patient at several hospitals, but said none compares to her treatment last year at Baptist Health Paducah.
“It was such a good experience,” Landers said. “I’ve been there two times and once in the Emergency department, and everyone was really nice.”
Landers came to Baptist Health Paducah last year after having a bad reaction to medicine. She had just spent several days in another hospital after having both knees replaced.
“The difference was daylight and dark,” she said. “It was quiet and the nurses weren’t talking or gossiping out in the hallways. Housekeeping was as quiet as could be. Everything was nice and clean.”
WomenCertified® honored Baptist Health Paducah with the Women’s Choice Award because of its high consumer satisfaction scores, coming from patients such as Landers.
“Right now, the national conversation about health care is focused on politics, insurance companies, and ‘the bottom line,’ which ignores what matters most to the patient – their experience with health care providers,” says Delia Passi, CEO and founder of WomenCertified®.
“We’re putting the power of choice in the woman’s hands,” she said. “Women have many choices when it comes to health care, and they set the standard for customer service. Women’s Choice Award recipients have demonstrated extraordinary service in meeting the needs of women and their families, and represent the smart choice for women.”
WomenCertified®, the voice of female consumers, awards businesses and brands based on consumer experience. WomenCertified represents the collective voice of women so they can help each other identify businesses that deserve our loyalty and referrals. WomenCertified awards businesses and brands that meet a higher standard of customer experience the Women’s Choice Award. The Award is based on surveys of tens of thousands of women, as well as research conducted in partnership with the Wharton School of the University of Pennsylvania on what drives the consumer experience for women vs. men, which led to the development of the Female Consumer Satisfaction Index.
