Baptist Health Paducah’s annual Childbirth Fair set for Sept. 15

Jennifer and Linn Harper knew they wanted to have their twins born at Baptist Health Paducah because it is home to the area’s first Neonatal Intensive Care Unit. Lillian and Mason Harper were born on June 27, but Mason had to stay in the NICU for a week because of his small size.

“One of the reasons we chose Baptist was because of the NICU,” said Jennifer Harper of Lovelaceville. “I couldn’t imagine having one here and one in Louisville. It was such a blessing to have this here.”

Parents-to-be can learn about the NICU, receive useful information and tour the Birthing Center at Baptist Health Paducah’s annual free Childbirth Fair from 10 a.m. to noon Saturday, Sept.15, in the atrium of Doctor’s Office Building 2.

The fair also features vendors with giveaways and door prizes.

Expectant parents can register for the hospital’s free maternity program, StorkCentral, which includes:

  • A free copy of the Mayo Clinic Guide to a Healthy Pregnancy.
  • An invitation to StorkSmart, an educational program with hospital staff, and free classes.
  • A StorkCentral coupon book filled with discounts from participating merchants.
  • Access to StorkCentral’s Baby Steps, an online pregnancy information center, and the Stork’s Nest, the hospital’s online photo nursery.
