Baptist Rehab Center
Baptist Rehab Center provides a full range of physical, occupational and speech therapy services to clients with neurological, orthopaedic, developmental or traumatic disorders. We work with patients of all ages, from infants to the elderly and everything in between.
Rehabilitation for Injuries Sustained While at Play or Work
Therapists at Baptist Rehab Center focus on techniques that allow your rehabilitation to proceed at the pace you and your physician desire. Sports and industrial injuries, especially back, neck and joint trauma in the arms and legs, are a specialty. The center's staff includes an Advanced Clinical Specialist in orthopaedics, a Certified Hand Therapist, and a McKenzie Back Specialist. State-of-the-art equipment, such as the Cybex isokinetic tester, is used to individualize your rehabilitation program. Ergonomic assessments of your work site by our certified physical therapist and occupational therapist can also be scheduled. The assessments and recommendations will assist your company in reducing the risk of injury for your employees.
Rehabilitation for Vestibular and Dizziness Disorders
According to studies from the National Institutes of Health, 42 percent of all Americans will complain to their doctors of dizziness at least once in their lifetimes. Balance disorders become increasingly frequent with age.
Baptist Rehab Center offers vestibular rehabilitation techniques to alleviate dizziness and prevent falls. A Neurocom Balance Master is also available for the specific diagnosis of dizziness and balance disorders.
Physical therapists, occupational therapists and speech-language pathologists provide comprehensive rehabilitation services to children. This approach allows all rehabilitation needs to be addressed at one convenient location. Baptist Rehab Center staff specializes in treating children who demonstrate alteration in cognitive functioning, developmental dysfunction, learning difficulties and other physical, congenital or developmental problems.
Sometimes women who have undergone surgery for breast cancer experience swelling in the upper extremities. Also, individuals who sustain severe injuries to the lower extremities have to deal with swelling. Physical therapists can work with your physician if you have lymphedema, which is swelling related to the dysfunction of your lymphatic system. The lymphatic system controls fluid return to the heart. Treatment is individualized to meet your need to maintain proper fluid dynamics in your arms and legs.
