Cardiac Rehabilitation
Cardiac Rehabilitation at the Baptist Heart Center offers various programs to help you reach your optimal level of cardiovascular fitness. These programs offer you individualized exercise prescriptions and educational programs designed to help you maintain a healthy lifestyle.
Phase I- Your physician may request a Cardiac Rehab Phase I program while you are in the hospital. This is an educational program designed to teach you about your specific cardiac problem.
Phase II- This program meets 3 days a week on Monday, Wednesday and Friday for one and a half hour. One hour is devoted to monitored exercise and one half hour devoted to educational instruction on methods of risk factor reduction. An alternative 2 day per week program is offered on Tuesday and Thursday. Recovering heart patients are monitored while they exercise. A group setting enhances the Phase II experience.
Phase III- is a maintenance program for people who have completed the Phase II program. It is a supervised (but non-monitored) exercise program that meets for one hour sessions. Various scheduled times are available.
