Threads of Life
Breast Cancer Awareness Program
Threads of Life is an annual breast cancer awareness event held every October in recognition of National Breast Cancer Awareness Month at the Museum of the American Quilters Society in Paducah.
Coordinated by the Kentucky Cancer Program and cosponsored by Western Baptist Hospital, Threads of Life features a display of quilts made by women, both local and out-of-state, whose lives have been touched by breast cancer. Also showcased is a display of pictures and stories about Purchase area women who have had breast cancer.
Each year, the event includes speakers who discuss breast cancer treatment, as well as coping techniques for dealing with the unique stresses a diagnosis of breast cancer brings.
