2013 Quality Awards
May 01, 2013 – Baptist Health Paducah is named Best Hospital for Patient Experience in Orthopedics by WomenCertified®.
March 2013 – Baptist Health Paducah received the Get with the Guidelines/American Heart Association Silver Award for Resuscitation.
Jan. 04, 2013 – Western Baptist is named Best Hospital for Patient Experience in Obstetrics by WomenCertified®.
2012 Quality Awards
December 2012 – Western Baptist received the Get with the Guidelines/American Heart Association Bronze Award for Resuscitation.
Sept. 05, 2012 – Western Baptist is named America's Best Hospital for Patient Experience and winner of Women’s Choice Award by WomenCertified® for the second year.
Oct. 26, 2012 – Western Baptist receives back-to-back national honors for its stroke program -- the Stroke Silver Plus Quality Achievement Award from the American Heart Association and the Joint Commission's Gold Seal of Approval as an Advanced Primary Stroke Center for the second consecutive cycle.
2011 Quality Awards
Nov. 17, 2011 – Western Baptist receives Cycle III accreditation with PCI from the Society of Chest Pain Centers. It is one of seven Kentucky hospitals and 345 hospitals in the U.S. with this highest level of accreditation. This follows Western Baptist’s Cycle II accreditation in 2008.
Sept. 27, 2011 – Vascular lab is accredited by the Intersocietal Commission for the Accreditation of Vascular Laboratories in peripheral arterial testing, peripheral venous testing and extracranial cerebrovascular testing.
Sept. 22, 2011 – Western Baptist is named in the Top 100 Hospitals for Patient Experience and winner of Women’s Choice Award by WomenCertified®.
Aug. 11, 2011 – Continuing Medical Education is accredited with commendation by the Kentucky Medical Association. It is only the second hospital to receive commendation.
Sept. 15, 2011 –Positron Emission Tomography/Computed Tomography is accredited by the American College of Radiology. Western Baptist is the only Kentucky hospital west of Owensboro with this accreditation.
June 6, 2011 – Western Baptist is named a Fit-Friendly Company by the American Heart Association for efforts to improve health of employees.
May 10, 2011 – Western Baptist receives the Bronze Quality Achievement Award for stroke treatment from the American Heart Association’s Get with the Guidelines program.
March 25, 2011 – Western Baptist wins the Outstanding Achievement Award from Commission on Cancer. Just 5 percent of the nation’s hospitals met CoC standards for this three-year award. Western Baptist also received it in 2008.
August 3, 2011 – Western Baptist is one of 192 hospitals to win the International Board of Lactation Consultant Examiners Care Award for breastfeeding support program. According to the Centers for Disease Control, Western Baptist is one of only 20 percent of hospitals that do not give formula unless there is a medical need and only 25 percent who provide support for new mothers after they leave the hospital.
2011 Recognition
Nov. 18, 2011 – Western Baptist launches area’s first stroke robot partnership with Marshall County Hospital.
Oct. 21, 2011 – Western Baptist finished 6th among 135 entries in the Pink Glove Dance breast cancer awareness competition with more than 17,000 votes nationwide.
Oct. 17, 2011 – Western Baptist received a $5,000 grant from the March of Dimes “Healthy Babies are Worth the Wait” initiative for community education about premature births.
July 22, 2011 – Oncology director Mary White, R.N., is the American Cancer Society’s Spirit of Hope award winner for her career in cancer care.
June 21, 2011 – Employee blood drives recognized by the American Red Cross for 70 percent increase in three-year period.
May 23, 2011 – Western Baptist’s pneumonia care is featured on the cover of The Joint Commission Benchmark newsletter for scoring in the top 3 percent of more than 2,800 hospitals with 50 or more beds in seven pneumonia core measures.
May 11, 2011 – Rehab services director Mike Muscarella, P.T., D.P.T., is selected as one of 62 members in Leadership Kentucky.
May 5, 2011 – Vice President Bonnie Schrock is one of three finalists chosen by Women Leading Kentucky for the Martha Layne Collins Leadership Award.
